Yearbook editor applications are now available. Put your creativity and school spirit to work by joining the 2010-2011 yearbook editor team. Applications are due by Friday, March 26th and can be picked up from Mrs. Strebel in room 222 or Mrs. Holtzer in room 129.

Attention all girls planning to try out for soccer: You have one week left to get your Green Spring Clearance Card from Mrs. Waffenschmidt in the athletic office. This must be handed in to Coach Schroeder on or before the first day of tryouts, March 22nd, or you will not be permitted to participate. Please see the yellow spreadsheet posted outside Room 112. If your name does not have an 'x' next to it, you need a card.

Attention Girls Volleyball players, there will be an informational meeting for summer work outs and next season on Friday, March 19 at 3:15pm in Room 166.

Link Crew applications are outside of room 210. All current sophomores and juniors are eligible for the application process. You need to apply even if you were in Link Crew this year. Completed applications are due to Ms. Fotsch by Friday, March 26th.

Short-sleeved are $12.50 and long-sleeved are $14.00. If you e-mail, be sure to include if you want a short or long sleeved and your size.

Is your garage full of bikes that no one rides or don't work? If so, consider donating your used (working or not!) bikes to the Bike Drive at BEHS. Donated bikes will go to a company called Dream Bikes that will teach kids from the Boys and Girls Club of Milwaukee how to fix them, then sell them for a very low price to kids who can't afford new bikes. Collection day is Monday, March 29th at BEHS from 3:15-5:30. See Junior Misses Sarah Newton or Trish Paskov for details.

The CCRC is having a Career Presentation today during 7th hour. We will be focusing on the careers of counselors. Please come to the CCRC if you would like to attend.

ALL profits will go to the NKHASO AIDS project founded to help fight AIDS in Malawi, Africa by B'East Alumni Bailey Curtis. Every bite you take will help this worthy cause! Stop by outside the cafeteria today and tomorrow!

A cadet from WestPoint Military Academy will be in the CCRC today in 15 minutes. Please come to the CCRC if you would like to get information about the Military Academy.

The ASVAB Test will be given in the CCRC on Friday, March 5th at 8:00 a.m. This is a Career Exploration Program that helps students identify and understand information about their interests, skills and work related values. The test is three hours long and is free of charge. Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors need to sign up in the CCRC by Thursday, March 4th.

Attention Staff and Students: You can save a life, or two! Key Club is hosting their annual spring blood drive at East on March 3rd. We NEED MORE DONORS!!!! If you are 16 or above, please stop by room 110 and see Mrs. Wilke to sign up to donate and save a life!! We need your help! Again, stop by room 110 to sign up to donate!

Attention students who plan on taking an AP exam this year. Please check the window of the Guidance Office to verify that you have signed up and are registered for the AP exam that you wish to take this year.

Do you love to dance? Do you have school spirit? Is competing in your bones? If so, Spartanettes may be the activity for you. Spartanettes will be holding tryouts the week of March 15th. There is a mandatory informational parent meeting being held Tuesday, March 2nd in the library at 6:30 pm. Any questions, see Mrs. Toth in Room 216.

The ASVAB Test will be given in the CCRC on Friday, March 5th at 8:00 a.m. This is a Career Exploration Program that helps students identify and understand information about their interests, skills and work related values. The test is three hours long and is free of charge. Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors need to sign up in the CCRC by Thursday, March 4th.

Congratulations to the Co-ed cheer squad as they took 2nd at their final competition at Sun Prairie HS. Jenna, Sammy, Fran and Jackie took 3rd in an all girl stunt routine. Elizabeth and Tony took 1st in a partner stunt routine and Cheyenne, Alaska, Tony and Sierra took 2nd in a co-ed stunt routine. If you see any of the east cheerleaders please congratulate them on a great end to their season. Congratulations to our wrestlers who qualified for the state tournament held this past weekend. Casey Dentino, Justin Wolfenden, Joey Woppert and Larry Watson. Joey Woppert finished 4th and Justin Wolfenden finished in 2nd place.

The technical staff and crew list of the Spring play is posted outside the Black Box Theatre. Everyone listed must initial by their name to accept the position. All positions are filled.

March 1 is the state-imposed deadline. Again, youth options forms are due on Monday, March 1.

Come one, come all to a two-for-one event of crazy comedy and mad musical talent. Thursday, February 25th in the Brookfield East cafeteria, NHS is sponsoring the first annual Mr. B'East competition, a spoof on the Miss America pageant, that will feature some of Brookfield East's most outrageous and charming male talent. Come out and watch these guys strut their stuff from 4:30-5:30 PM. Then stay to hear some of East's hottest musical talent perform in our Battle of the Bands competition from 5:45-8:15. There will be plenty of baked goods and pizza to go around! Tickets and t-shirts will be sold all next week and at the door for both events. Less than $10 will get you in to see it all, plus give you a great shirt to wear that night!

Attention members of the Spartan Banner! We will be holding an all-staff meeting, this Friday before school to plan the March issue of the paper. Due to construction, the meeting will be moved to Ms. Barber's NEW classroom--Room 128. Writers, photographers, and artists are invited to join us.
